The home-bar app for iPhone

Your shelf is holding out on you.

bartender.live keeps the book on more than a thousand cocktails and knows exactly which ones you can pour with the bottles you already own. Flip a switch for everything in the house; the bar quietly does the rest.

No guessing. No grocery run. Tonight’s drink is probably already here.

The bartender.live home screen: an old fashioned being strained into a rocks glass on a brass bar top, with a Suggest a Drink button and tabs for Home, My Bar, Drinks, Supplies, and Help

No chord of music has yet been found
To even equal that sweet sound
Which to my mind all else surpasses
The clink of ice in crystal glasses

— an old toast

Stock your bar

Walk your shelf once and flip a switch for every bottle in the house, from aged rum to allspice dram. iCloud carries the list to every device you own.

Ask what pours

Tap I Can Make and the whole library narrows itself to the drinks your bar can pour tonight, complete, no substitutions.

Pour something great

Every recipe keeps it honest — real measures, the right glass, and the story of how the drink came to be.

The Almost filter in the drinks list: Americano missing sweet vermouth, Bishop missing red wine, Caribbean Old Fashioned missing tropical bitters
Each entry names the one bottle standing between you and it.

The signature pour

One bottle away from a better drink.

The Almost list keeps a polite tab of everything your bar could make with exactly one more bottle — and names the bottle. Short a vermouth for an Americano? It says so, plainly, and points you at the shelf.

missing: Sweet Vermouth

Almost pours from the Top Shelf — the app’s one-time unlock. One price, no subscription, yours forever.

The book behind the bar

A thousand-some recipes, kept honestly.

Every drink gets the full write-up: measures that mean it, the glass it belongs in, and where the recipe came from. Green checks mark what your bar already has; whatever is wanting gets named in orange.

The library grows by a drink or so most days, each one photographed and filed under its proper glass. When you find a keeper, the share sheet sends it to whoever is thirsty.

Tap any ingredient for its own page — what it is, what it tastes like, and every drink in the book that calls for it.

The Negroni recipe: a rocks glass photo, green checks beside Campari and gin, an orange mark beside sweet vermouth, and the instruction to stir over ice and garnish with an orange peel
Green checks: already in the house. The vermouth, noted.

Love this app!

This is such a great app. It keeps track of not only my favorite cocktail recipes but also keeps track of what cocktails I can make with what I currently have available in my bar!

Useful, inexpensive, but needs thumbnails

So far the app is inexpensive and useful. However, it’s be more useful if there were thumbnails for each cocktail in the “In my Bar” list. Perhaps some categorization too. My list is a bit long and it’s just a lot of words to me. UPDATE: the app now has thumbnails in the list! Yay!

Love it!

This app is SO EASY to use, has a clean format and is helpful for finding fun drinks to make with what I have at home already.

Informative

Great app for preparing drinks. Love this app.

Great app!

It is extremely helpful when mixing drinks. I wish I could search recipes based on the liquor.

No more guessing! :)

I love this! It takes all the guess work out of being a good host; just tell the app what you have on hand (once) and it tells you what you can make. Super easy to use. They should make a cooking version :-)

Every quote above is a real five-star App Store review, pulled straight from Apple’s ledger. The pour rotates daily.

The My Bar list: absinthe through anise liqueur with green toggles marking aged rum, allspice dram, and amaretto as in the house
Flip a switch for every bottle. The bar takes it from there.

My Bar

The bar that remembers itself.

My Bar is the one list you keep: every bottle, bitter, and backbar oddity in the house, tracked with a flick. It rides your iCloud, so a new phone walks in already knowing your shelf.

Put the Home Screen widgets up and the day’s drink waits on your wallpaper. And if you ask it to, the app will tap your shoulder at five with a suggestion poured entirely from what you own.

Widgets, the daily suggestion, only-makeable suggestions, and custom favorite icons all pour from the Top Shelf.

House policy

Mixed to a standing order.

Some things behind this bar are non-negotiable. They have been the recipe since 2017, and they are not up for review.

The long version lives on the privacy page, which is short.

Bought the app back when it was paid up front?

Then you are a Founder. Every Top Shelf extra is yours automatically, forever — no restore dance, no fine print. There is a badge on your Home screen to prove it, and a thank-you behind it.

The good stuff is already in the house.

Let the app prove it.

Download on the App Store For iPhone and iPad, iOS 17 or later. Pouring since 2017.

Cheers.
